Why do cucumbers turn yellow and rot from the flower end?

Our Advice:

This is usually grey mould fungus, entering the flower as it starts to die and spreading into the developing fruits. Snap off the flowers when they start to shrivel after pollination and spray the plants with Disease Control for Fruit and Vegetables from Bayer.
