Leaf Rolling Caterpillars

Description

These are small green or pale green caterpillars up to 25mm long often with a green head, they are the juvenile stage of Tortrix moths. The adults are often dark brown with a 10mm wingspan and pale metallic markings on the wingtip.

Symptoms

Leaves held together in a tube-like structure, held together with ‘silken’ threads spun by the caterpillar and they then feed within this shelter causing the damaged areas of tissue to dry up and turn brown. From late spring to early autumn damage to the fruit and flowers as well as to the leaves and shoots, can also be seen. In glasshouses damage can occur year round.

What next...

Now you know what the problem is, and the damage it is doing, don't let your plant suffer.
