When is the best time to prune a mulberry tree?

Our Advice:

Mulberries don't need regular pruning and are notorious for bleeding sap when pruned. For this reason, young shoots are pruned in summer when the plant is in full leaf. Large branches should be pruned about 4 weeks after leaf fall to reduce the chance of bleeding.
