What are the wart-like growths on my walnut tree leaves?

Our Advice:

This is walnut blister mite feeding on the underside of the leaves. This pest seems to have no lasting effect on the growth or health of the tree. Collecting and disposing of fallen leaves in autumn helps reduce insect populations the following year.
