How can I keep ants off my Japanese maple?

Our Advice:

Scatter Neudorff Ant Killer Granules around the base of the tree or place a non-drying adhesive Tree Band from Vitax around the stem to act as a barrier. Any ants trying to cross it will get caught on the band and eaten by birds.
