How can I get rid of brambles and nettles on my new allotment?

Our Advice:

Cut the stems down to ground level and, when the new growth is about 30 cm (1 ft) high, spray with SBK Brushwood Killer from Vitax or Superfast Long lasting Weedkiller from Neudorff. This will be absorbed by the leaves and attack the underground roots.
