What is causing pink blisters on the leaves of my blackcurrants?

Our Advice:

These pink areas will eventually turn brown and die. The damage is caused by currant blister aphids feeding on the underside of the leaves. Spray the leaves from below with Sprayday Bayer Greenfly Killer'>Greenfly Killer from Bayer or Resolva Bug Killer from Westland. Next year, start spraying early, as soon as the fruits start to swell.
