Pansies typically prefer well-draining soil that is rich in organic matter. If your pansies are not growing well in the soil, it could be due to: Poor soil quality: The soil may be too heavy or compacted, making it difficult for the roots to penetrate and access nutrients. In this case, try adding organic matter such as compost or leaf mold to improve the soil structure and fertility.
Nutrient deficiencies: Pansies require a balanced supply of nutrients to grow well, including nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. If the soil is deficient in any of these nutrients, the plants may not thrive. Try fertilizing with a balanced, slow-release fertiliser to provide the necessary nutrients.
Waterlogging: Pansies do not like to sit in water, so if the soil is waterlogged or the drainage is poor, this can lead to root rot and other problems. Make sure the soil is well-draining and that any excess water is able to drain away.
