Is the monkey tree an ericaceous plant?

Our Advice:

The monkey puzzle (Araucaria araucana) does not need acid soil. These trees prefer a fertile, moist but well drained soil and an open site. Young plants need protection from drying winds to prevent the leaves turning brown.
