Viburnum plants prefer well-drained, fertile soil that is slightly acidic. If the soil is too heavy and poorly drained, it can lead to root rot and poor growth. Amending the soil with compost and sand can improve drainage and fertility. Additionally, adding an acidic fertiliser can help adjust the soil pH to the plant's preferred range.
