Cobra GT3024V 24v Cordless Battery Grass Trimmer Review

Rating: 4.2 out of 5 (from 227 reviews)

The Cobra GT3024V 24v Cordless Battery Grass Trimmer offers advanced trimming technology for modern gardening. Powered by a 24v lithium-ion battery, it charges quickly, lasts longer, and provides higher power density, making it lighter and more efficient than traditional batteries. Ideal for use anywhere, even in areas without electricity, this cordless trimmer offers unparalleled convenience.

Featuring both Eco and Turbo modes, you can choose quieter, extended trimming with Eco mode at 7000rpm or opt for the more powerful Turbo mode at 8400rpm for tougher tasks. The adjustable angle head allows for easy trimming of borders and lawn verges with a simple button press, rotating the head through 45° and using the guide wheel for a perfect finish.

With a 2-year warranty, the Cobra GT3024V ensures reliability and peace of mind. It boasts a cutting width of 30cm and uses a 1.65mm twisted line, running up to 30 minutes on a single charge with a charging time of approximately 2 hours. Weighing just 2.4kg and equipped with 90° lawn edging capability, this trimmer is designed for ease of use and optimal performance.

What users think:

The Cobra GT3024V 24v Cordless Battery Grass Trimmer has received mostly positive feedback, although some users did find issues with the product.

On the positive side, the trimmer was applauded for its cordless design which eliminates the hassle of managing wires. It is sufficiently powerful and has decent battery life for small garden tasks. The trimmer is also reportedly lightweight, making it easier to handle compared to other battery-operated models. It features a good-sized cutting area, and despite the wheels, visibility while cutting is generally good.

On the downside, the instructions have been criticised for being quite poor, making assembly and operation less intuitive than it should be. The cutting head is particularly challenging to unlock and twist around. Additionally, the battery life in 'turbo' mode is disappointing, depleting quickly with more demanding tasks.

The Cobra GT3024V offers convenience and adequate performance for small gardens, though it comes with some usability and battery limitations.

Direct quotes from owners:

Doesn’t like overgrown heavy vegetation but seems adequate once growth is under control.

So easy to use, I now edge every time the lawn is cut. No extensions to unwind or skipping round cables. At medium power setting it easily edges my front and rear garden (average size garden) two or three times between charges. At the high power setting it has cut through whatever I have thrown at it.

This is the best strimmer I've had, battery last long enough to do all jobs, quickly re charges. So easy to pul the line out and so much lighter than the petrol one is was using - would highly recommend!
