How do I divide my begonia plant?

💡 Our Advice
Begonias can be divided in the spring when they are actively growing. To divide a begonia, carefully remove it from its pot or garden bed and gently tease the roots apart, taking care not to damage them. You can also use a clean, sharp knife to cut the plant into smaller sections, each with roots and foliage. Ensure that each section has a healthy root system and at least one stem or leaf. Pot each new plant in fresh, well-draining soil and water thoroughly.
