These perennial plants can be divided in the Spring. Wait until you see the first signs of new shoots and remove any soil from around the underground stems (rhizomes). Pull the rhizomes apart aiming to get 2-3 young shoots on each section. Discarding any old foliage or rotting sections of stem. Re-pot or plant out after the frosts.
