After a long workday, it can be tough to unwind. But there are little things you can do to make it easier. One of our favorites? Taking a rosemary-infused bath. Yes, that is right, rosemary has uses that reach far beyond cookbooks.
Not only does the herb have a refreshing, slightly woodsy, minty scent, but it's also thought to have calming properties. So go ahead and add a few drops of rosemary oil to your next bath. We promise you'll feel more relaxed in no time. And the best thing is that you can easily make it yourself. Below is the recipe.
- 1 cup extra-virgin olive oil
- 1/4 cup fresh, removed from woody stems rosemary leaves
Wash the rosemary, and be sure to dry it thoroughly. Any bit of moisture may spoil the oil before you've used it all.
Place the rosemary in the pot and pour the oil over it.
Heat over low heat for 5 to 10 minutes, stirring constantly.
Turn off the heat and let the rosemary infuse in the oil for 1 hour.
Strain, cool, and bottle the oil.
Enjoy in a warm bath, as a massage oil, and even as a hair conditioner!
