Go on a Course: RHS Gardening Classes Return

The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) has today made more than 100 gardening courses and workshops available to book for 2022, with more than 300 to be available in total over the course of the next year.

After two years of disruption, the RHS is pleased to be welcoming the public back into its gardens for the popular adult learning programme. The classes cater to all skill levels, from first-time gardeners to experts, and range from two hours long, to two days.

In addition to popular courses such as pruning, willow Christmas decorations and photography for beginners, a new range of sustainability workshops has also been introduced to encourage Planet Friendly Gardening. These will vary across the RHS's gardens, but will include subjects such as Bokashi composting and fermentation which breaks down meat and dairy for use in the garden, and learning to scythe.

Courses and workshops are available to book now at RHS Garden Harlow Carr, RHS Garden Hyde Hall, RHS Garden Rosemoor and RHS Garden Wisley. Courses at RHS Garden Bridgewater will be launched later this year.

RHS Head of Education and Learning Suzanne Moss said: “After almost two years of disruption, it is great to be able to bring back our fantastic range of courses and workshops. The extensive programme has always proved popular, and with many more people now spending time growing, we hope to equip even more with the skills and knowledge they need to get the most from their plots, balconies or window boxes.

“With climate issues also at the forefront of people's minds, we have expanded our offering to inspire a gardening approach that is good for both people and the planet.”

The full range of courses and workshops at all RHS gardens will be announced in early 2022. For more information, please visit: https://www.rhs.org.uk/education-learning/courses-workshops
